We use:
- 2P imaging techniques from various populations of hippocampal and neocortical neurons to monitor how their activity changes with learning.
Left: CA1 pyramidal neurons expressing GCaMP6f fire action potentials during a behavioral experiment.
Right: Changes in fluorescence for 6 individual neurons are shown as a function of location (upper trace)..
- Whole-cell Vm recordings from various individual hippocampal and neocortical neurons during behavior looking for mechanisms of learning-related activity modifications.
- 2P and whole-cell Vm recordings in slices to explore fundamental cellular physiology and its role in neuronal plasticity.
- Various genetic, optogenetic and pharmacological manipulations in the above studies.
